ABOUT

jinnakaneko.jpg

Born in Tokyo and raised in Beijing and Toronto, Jinna loves recording cultural differences between the East and the West through 'visual journalism'. She also has a thirst to understand the history and connection between China, Japan, and Korea.

She can be found in cafes, parks, or on the street doing the 'Beijing squat', drawing her surroundings. Currently freelancing as an illustrator and graphic designer, she uses her spare time to interview small business owners for zines called "Hole in the Wall".

She has a background in Illustration, where she earned a BFA from California College of the Arts. This is where she learned about her love for story telling through design and illustrations. Then dived into the VR and AR world at Yue Cheng Technology, where story telling isn't told solely by the director, but also by the player's perspective. Then she moved to working as the lead graphic designer and project manager at a game studio at Carpe Noctem K.K.
